After a successful film festival run, Last Shot officially hits theaters today!
After starting this project back in December of 2025 and following a successful film festival run, today marks the official theatrical release of Last Shot—and we can finally share it with the world!
If you’ve ever worked on a basketball film (or commercial, for that matter), you know just how much work it takes to get the court action sonically authentic and punchy while still keeping the dialogue clean and intelligible.
Thank God for the amazing team that rolled up their sleeves with me to make this film rock, especially Jeffery Fuller, David Ian, Dino de AElfweald, and Mike Vaughn. Big thanks to the incredibly talented director Andy Palmer, whose creativity and energy are completely contagious. I’ll gladly be a part of any adventure Andy is captaining.
A feature film takes a skilled, diverse, and deeply collaborative team, and Digital One is proud to be that hub. Bringing Last Shot across the finish line was a seamless multi-facility effort alongside Andy, the teams at Monkeyland Audio, Dallas Post, and Skid Row Collective, as well as our outstanding crew of engineers, Foley walkers, and loop group talent.
A few project highlights:
Immersive Sound Design: Mixed in Studio 1, Eric Stolberg spearheaded the Dolby Atmos, 5.1, and stereo mixes, ensuring exceptional sonic clarity and spatial impact across every distribution format.
Audio Direction: Emmy Award-winning mixer Jeffery Fuller served as Sound Supervisor, Dialogue Editor, and ADR Director, guiding the story and maintaining pristine dialogue balance throughout.
Custom Foley: Unchained Production meticulously performed every court shoe squeak and basketball bounce to bring raw, tactile energy to the game sequences.
Dynamic Loop Group: Rebeloop provided vibrant, reactive crowd performances that gave gym scenes an authentic, un-library-like realism.
While we await showtimes here in Oregon, the film opens today in select markets across the country—including California, Washington, Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. We encourage everyone in those areas to head to the theaters this weekend to help drive screen expansion nationwide!
